Beginning Paper Piecing 3 sessions
Skills learned will enable students to tackle more complicated patterns with confidence.
Class will start with a discussion about fabric choice and the use of mirrors for auditioning fabrics, then
work on measuring and cutting for accuracy, the importance of organization & and time use throughout the construction process, seam matching and finally border options, quilting and finishing. Sewing at home is a requirement in order to use class time efficiently.. Machines are available for student use, or may elect to bring their own.
Patterns are supplied by the instructor.

Fabric requirements:
The pattern you will be working on is called Bonaventure. Six different fabrics are required. For one block you will need only a fat quarter for four of the fabrics and slightly more for two fabrics that will also be cut for the two borders.
You will be doing a practice block, or two, so bring some 4"- 5" scraps with good contrast to use for those. The fabrics may be random, do not need to match and the colors can be crazy- they are for practice. I recommend waiting until class to choose fabrics for Bonaventure, so that we can discuss placement, value and color. Fabrics for a wall piece do not need to be washed.
Note: Please make certain we have both a telephone number and email for you.
